Adding a Report Designer

You can add a new Report Designer to a project by selecting Add New item from the Project menu and choosing the Crystal Report icon. 

In the Add New item dialog box, give the report a name (View Image). 

You can either enter the .rpt extension or leave it off; the extension is added by default.
You are given a choice of the type of report to create (View Image). 

You can choose Using the Report Wizard to open a wizard that steps you through the report creation process. Or you can choose As a Blank Report to create your own report from scratch. 

You can also select Form an Existing Report that allows you to create a modification of a report you have already created.

Note: The report design is compiled into the project’s .exe file. If you modify the report design, you must recompile the project to see the changes.
